Recap: Bella Luna Bloggers Lounge

Last night I was invited to a Bloggers event at Bella Luna *Upstairs lounge of the Milky Way (403-405 Centre St., Jamaica Plain)
for the Bloggers Lounge sponsored by Bella Luna and marketed by Image Unlimited Communications, Ltd. The event was to encourage networking with bloggers and introduce us to the food creations of new chef Jacob Zachow.

I stepped inside and my name and my guests were on the list, for once, so I was excited about that ;) the decor inside was very bohemian with tin lanterns and faux poppy's atop the tables.

Bloggers and friends mingling

It was a little cramped with the extra tables, but the servers encouraged people to also utilize the outdoor patio which added a little square footage.

Near the door they had set up a bar area with samples of Cosmitos (Kettle Citroen, Cointreau, Muddled Limes and Mint, Cranberry) - If you like a Mojito without so much sugar, this is the perfect combo for you. They also had another good drink called the Martinique (Kettle One, Cointreau, Mango Nectar,Rose Water, Fresh Lime juice) again, delish!

Their selection of wines were good with a Riesling and one I had not tried before - Pinotage Fairview 2006 very good vintage :)

The booze provided a great backdrop for networking and people were nice to share a bit about their blogs. My favs of the night were BostonVeggie.com - she gave me some great tips on the fly for great Vegetarian spots to hit up in and around the Boston Area...and BeyondBostonChic - just 'cuz she's fab! :) and recently discovered The Fab! Empire.

For tasty treats they passed hors d' oeuvres...I won't bore you with the entire list, but loved the Portabella Black Bean Sliders, and Key Lime Pie miniature tarts...

Key Lime tarts...they just kept bringing them.

The DJ kept the music volume low enough so people could hear themselves talk, but loud enough so that when your jam came on you could be ready to sway to the beat. And towards the end let a little loose with some reggae. I ain't mad atcha ;)

The DJ spinnin' those hits

The invitation said 6:30 - 8:30, but they didn't stop serving 'til around quarter of 10. Nice...and to imagine all of this was free! Jake is a-okay in my book. Talk about yummy! So if you're ever in JP check out Bella Luna for some good eats! They also have special events throughout the month, so click here! For more details.

Stay Fab! :)
