VerBaLizAtiOn's, Boston's longest-running open mic, will be hosting a nigt Afro-Cinema Night with '500 Years Later' Directed by Owen 'Alik Shahadah at Codman Square Tech Center (450 Washington St., Codman Square, Dorchester)

Filmed in five continents, 500 Years Later, engages the authentic retrospective voice told from the African vantage-point of those whom history has sought to silence by examining the collective atrocities that uprooted Afrikans from their culture and homeland.
