Mini Recap: Boston Fashion Week Opening Reception

Me and my gal pals headed over to the Boston Fashion Week Opening night at the Hyatt Terrace (One Avenue de la Lafayette, Downtown, Theater District) exactly at 9 p.m. because we rec'd numerous e-mails saying if we weren't there by 10 p.m. we wouldn't get in. But it turned out not to be a big deal at all. When we arrived there were only a handful of people there.

People slowly arriving to the terrace

We were immediately served with Dixie cup samplers of the Mojito by Bicardi...it tasted more like a shot than a sample...dag that thing was strong! But free...gotta love free.

The hor d' oeuvres table was well...small.. I think that my Fab! Friend Melissa got the last of the grapes. And there was only one bar available to purchase drinks.

Hors d' oeuvre table...notice the ratio of food to the number of plates...

The terrace itself is very nice, very relaxing and located on the 3rd floor of the hotel which give a nice view of the buildings downtown and is designed to shade you from the wind. I thought that it being a cold night they would have some heat lamps or something to keep people warm...but unfortunately this was not the case. I thought that they would move the party inside perhaps, but they didn't do that either. I wonder how they purpose to use the multi-million dollar renovated space in a place where the weather is cold more than half the year...

As the temperatures continued to drop we all had to admit our bodies couldn't withstand the cold any longer and had to call it a night at 10:20. We missed the fashion show that was to begin at 11:00 and from what we saw, a lot of others did the same.

Guess it's time to bust out the winter jackets! If you suffered through and actually saw the show leave your impressions in the comment box!

See you at the next event...
